Huawei finally unwinded off of the P9 at London launch event. Huawei P9 this time focuses on the fly with dual 12 mp cameras and leica certification, it is not just limited to the leica brand it has got many more about it. Just like P8 before, P9 is also a gorgeous phone, lets talk about its features in detail below.
This time its all about the cameras though which are co developed with German optics specialist leica. Its shooter is of 12 units which captures color while other seeing black and white. Its monochrome sensor gives 300% more light capture and 50%more contrast which are then processed through regular sensor to give look and color to image, Huawei P9 has also got a manual camera mode which offers great exposure and shutter speed. There’s a dual led flash for dark but OIS is missing.the camera strip on the back resembles to the existing Huawei Nexus 6P.
Wide Aperture Mode
Huawei’s wide aperture mode is also in P9 which is the standout feature that allows to create a shallow depth of field which can create striking feature photographs with blurry background. As in HTC One M8 now it is also possible in P9 to simulate broken effects in software which can be done by adjusting the slider between f/0.95 and f/16.
Latest Huawei CPU
Huawei P9 is powered by use of new Kirin 955 chipset which is an upgraded version of Kirin 950 used in the Mate 8. Kirin 955 Soc features an octa-core CPU along four Cortex-a72 cores clocked at upto 2.5 Ghz and four Cortex-A53 cores ticking till 1.8Ghz. Kirin 955 is specialized with depth sensing and triple focusing ISP which is based on its laser focus unit or two rear facing cameras. It only brings a marginal improvement in performance over Mate 8’s Kirin.
Huawei’s launched first time the new reversible USB port that provides faster charging as well as data transfer, Huawei not also mentioned whether phone supports USB 3.1 or not but they resolved the problem of fumble around with cables ans we can make use of standard,s fast charging capabilities.
Huawei is planning to launch the P9 plus in Europe and Asia by may. The P9 plus bumps up with 5.5 inch screen and AMOLED panel with 1080p resolution. P9 plus has 4 GB RAM with the storage of 64GB. The P9 plus has a slightly larger 3,400mAh battery. To keep a control over TV it has given an IR blaster into the top beze. Huawei says that P9 plus is constructed with a different aluminium frame and features curved edges for comfortable hold, to add on its look there is brushed metal pattern and finishes with glossy look.
720P Power Saving
Huawei launched its P9 with 720P power saving mode. The power plan automatically balances the performance between CPU and network usage. By enabling the “ROG POWER SAVING” we can save power by running 1080 phone in 720p mode without rebooting.
The Huawei P9 and P9 plus will come in choice of six different colors. It will go on sale by 16th April in Europe and Asia. Huawei revealed that it will be launching its flagship phone in US later this year. The 3GB and 4GB P9 will be priced at €599 and it is more likely to say that P9 Plus will also be available on same day at price of €749. As far as carriers are concerned Vodafone UK and O2 UK gave confirmation of ranging both P9 and P9 Plus but regular Huawei P9 will be offered by UK and EE.
