Seems like every company is after the Google Play’s idea. First Microsoft (Windows Store) and now Facebook is also doing the same by launching its Facebook App Center. Facebook App Center will be launched in this month. The idea behind Facebook App Center is to make a collection of all the applications which passes the Facebook standards, thus creating an archive of all the apps which can be accessed from one place.
The apps in the Facebook App Center will be categorised according to their type, for example separate category for gaming apps, music apps, news apps, communication apps etc. Right now the guessed apps are listed below.
- Photos & Video
- Travel & Local
- TV & Movies
Below is the expected layout of the App Center.
There will be both type of apps- Free and Paid. Facebook App Center will provide a good opportunity to the app developers so that they can earn and promote themselves. Facebook App Center will be different from other app stores. CNET’s Rafe Needleman pointed out that this will not be only about selling apps. It’s about promoting social apps that use a Facebook login, and promoting Facebook as a platform in general.
