Summary:

Everybody loves Big screens right..?? So, here the Saga continues, Dell has taken a step ahead to continue giving more joyful big screens, with a dedicated graphics which makes it works even faster with less power consuming processors with a very stylish outlook which makes it more attractive. Dell “17R” series gives you a full HD display which is like an add-on to its screen size. After going through all its specs and features you will realize, why to get this one besides everyone else.

CASE (Design and display)–

Dell has no more removable cover as its previous 17 r series does, the model is made up of a very fine good quality material with a aluminum matte finish in a sparkling light blue color with quite spacious palm-rest though its being a bit heavy because of the material used in its build, a fine smooth rounded hinges making its design more catchy, its maintenance cover is present in the bottom side, a 2.5-inch hard drive, RAM ( 2 slots), and a battery and all of these are accessible. The 17.3 inch display has a screen resolution of 1600*900 pixels which is fine with its screen size though its faded colors and small view angles can be irritating sometimes while gaming etc. and a 1.0 Megapixel embedded webcam for video callings is present on the top of the Notebook on a very suitable place according to users face.

Connectivity-

When you have mostly heard about maximum 3 USB ports in the devices, here Dell has taken one more point above all with a 4 USB ports connectivity in which 2 USB 2.0 and 2 USB 3.0 are available, accompanied with Power, HDMI, VGA, Gbit-LAN, audio jack all present on the left side which may be a hinder while its usage.

Communication-

Dell 17R- 5721 uses 802.11 b/g/n wireless and a Bluetooth. The device gives excellent connectivity with WLAN in range on 3 to 10 meters though it gets affected when a user tries to use it more than 40 m away from the routers and its  WLAN module just supports 2.4 GHz single band. The webcam giving you a resolution of 1280*720 pixels which is quite good for video chatting but a user cannot think of taking clicks as it will be disappointed because of hindrance appearing in colors.

OS, Recovery and Warranty-

The model has a pre-installed window 8 with a recovery DVD which a user can use if the windows get collapse and it has many more helpful accessories like pre-installed Dell Support Centre, Dell Backup and Recovery option and Dell Digital Update. Dell gives a pickup and return warranty period of 1 year in which a user can easily exchange or get any problem solved with no extra money and if user wants it can even be extended upto 1 or 2 more years by paying an additional amount of 75 Euro and 115 Euro respectively.

Performance and Storage-

The model is equipped with an Intel Core i5-3317U processor with a clock speed of 1.7 GHz, this is the ultra-low battery eater processor which is very in, in many other ultrabook with a dedicated integrated graphics “HD Graphics 4000” and Radeon HD 8730M. Complementing its all other areas the Notebook has a very wide capacity of storing data like it has a 6 GB PC3-12800 DDR3 internal memory ( RAM) and a 750 GB ROM with 5400 rpm SATA Hard drive.

Battery- Battery runtime of Inspiron 17r-5721 gives a user big sigh of relief while its usage, as in idle mode it can run approx. 5 hours 30 min and while using internet almost 4 hours, so a user don’t have to run every now and then to plug-in the device.

Verdict- After reading all its excellence customers gets curious about the money its costs, The Dell Inspiron 17R-5721 has just priced it between  $700 and $800.
