In the smart phones with dual SIM, Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos S6802 leads the market of India. It currently face challenges from various companies such as Motorola, LG, etc. But HTC has given a big challenge after launching HTC Desire V in June this year. Notice that we are talking about S6802 with GSM + GSM variant and not about Galaxy Duos I589. We will compare S6802 with HTC Desire V today.

As HTC uses advanced processor and high frequency, it has great speed of execution and takes a very less response time.

Both the phones lack front camera and rest all the features are same except LED flash. So HTC can be used in low light areas also. Additional features such as smile detection, geo tagging, video recording( At 30 fps) are also present.

OS Comparison

Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos S6802– OS: Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
HTC Desire V– OS: Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

The major difference between both the phones is the operating system used. In Galaxy Ace we have by default Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS and it cannot be updated to new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS. On the other hand HTC was released after the release of Android 4.0 and thus has this OS as the default one which is a plus point.

The Ice Cream Sandwich OS has minimum UI (user interface) and display designing has multiple features. This makes Desire attractive. Also, in future Desire V can be upgraded to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean version whereas no updates can be added to Galaxy which is a limitation for it.

Ace Duos is powered by 1300 mAh battery. It uses technology of Lithium ion that supplies maximum standby of 520 h (2G) / 410 h (3G) and maximum talktime of 16 h 40 min (2G) / 6 h 30 min (3G). And on the other hand, HTC Desire is powered by 1650 mAh battery that is more than the capability of Samsung Galaxy and thus promises a better life for battery.

UI Comparison

HTC Desire V– HTC Sense UI v4.0

Where Samsung Galaxy Ace has TouchWiz UX UI, HTC Desire has Sense 4.0 UI. Sense 4.0 is a colourful user interface that makes the device beautiful, attractive and better in every way at looks. It also has new features included. This makes Sense 4.0 a complete package which none can avoid to have.

Dual SIM Capabilities Comparison

Both the phones have dual SIM facilities and allow GSM + GSM SIM.

HTC Desire V– SIM 1: 3G network which gives HSDPA maximum speed of 7.2 Mbps; SIM 2: 2G network.
Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos S6802– Both the SIM can be 2G and 3G configured.

This gives Samsung a point over HTC but HTC its still okay because no one will want data connection on each SIM.

HTC is costlier as compared to Samsung Galaxy and has really has a good profile in hardware department.

Conclusion

Keeping all the points in mind we find HTC Desire V superior to Samsung Galaxy Ace Duos in mostly every way. Only the price of HTC Desire which is almost twice that of Samsung Galaxy makes people think before buying it. Samsung Galaxy Ace is the phone for those who are budget minded. Else HTC Desire V got nothing that one can refuse to have.
